DeHavilland Associates believes that the responsibility for education belongs to all of us. Education is not something we can pay our taxes into and hope for the best; all of us, individually and collectively, have a responsibility to contribute in some way if we want to see a vibrant future for our companies, our communities, and our country.

In his book "Then What?" Jason Ohler tells the story of the fictional William Tell's path to opening up a modern school - a school that uses community service, internships, and other such methods to engage students and drive authentic learning. A reporter, profiling the school for the local newspaper, is asked by a group of students whether he'll help them learn about journalisim by spending some time with them, possibly by hosting a tour of the paper's offices. The reporter realizes at that moment: if I fail at this moment to help these children, I forfeit my right to complain about education.

DeHavilland believes that we can have the best education system in the world. We all have a role in making sure that education reflects the needs, goals, and visions of our society, and we can all contribute in different ways towards realizing the success of our education system.
